Green To Grow Bottles

The wee being is almost exclusively breast fed, but every once in a while I give her a bottle.   We had been using Avent bottles and I have been really happy with them, but the whole BPA thing has me worried.  Therefore, I finally decided to buy some BPA-free bottles.  I decided on Green To Grow.  I am ashamed to admit it, but I chose them because they are cute.  And BPA free.  I'm really excited.

Fever

The wee being has had a fever for the past two days and it is really freaking me out.  It always responds to Tylenol, so I'm trying to stay calm.  However, I really want her to be back to normal.  If she isn't fine by tomorrow, I'll call the pediatrician.

Unhappy Baby

The wee one has been such a good sleeper in the last couple of weeks, but in the last couple of days have been brutal.  This is so hard.  I just want to know that I am doing the right thing.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

So tonight I put my wee being down on her back and when I went to check on her, she had rolled onto her side.  It was very exciting, but now I am terrified that she won't be able to breathe.  It seems like every new step forward provides me with a new worry.  I guess I should probably get used to that.  Still, it is very exciting.  She is almost four months old and I feel like she is already growing up so fast.  Every day is such a blessing.  I love her more than I could possibly have imagined.  Those smiles absolutely kill me.

Petunia Pickle Bottom

I absolutely love Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags.  They are expensive, that is true.  But I feel so special when I carry it.  Twice a year, they have an outlet sale where slightly imperfect or discontinued styles are sold at a discount.  I bought a touring tote in Kimono Roll.  I love it.  I may be wearing sweats and have my hair in a pony tail, but I feel wonderful.  However, it also makes me want to pull myself together so it doesn't look so out of place.

They are having another sale in about 10 days.  I want to get another bag, but I have to decide what I want.  So many styles to choose from.  I love the Boxy Backpack in Wisteria Roll, the Crosstown Clutch in Windermere Rose, and the Cosmopolitan Carryall in both Midnight BlackBerry Cake and Chocolate Cherry Cake.  Oh, so many choices.  So little money.

Baby Signing Time

I bought two Baby Signing Time DVDs and the two accompanying CDs.  They are really good.  I have watched them and I want to start using the signs in our everyday lives.  I can use the CDs to help with that.  I can't wait to find out what the wee one is thinking.  Evidently using sign language can help reduce a child's frustration because it allows them to communicate before they can talk.

Gordon Ramsay

I have become totally obsessed with Gordon Ramsay.  His show Kitchen Nightmares on BBC America is fabulous!  He is a wonderful chef and he is also really good at identifying the weaknesses of restaurants and what is needed to turn them around.  The people only fail when they do not listen to him.  One of the most interesting parts is that Wildcat Man loves this show.  He hardly watches any TV (just Seinfeld if there is a rerun), but he asks to watch Kitchen Nightmares.  I'm happy to oblige.

I think the wee one and I are going to head to the public library and pick up one of Ramsay's cookbooks.  They are written in very easy to understand and make.  I'll keep you posted.

No Reservations

I have just discovered the TV show No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel.  I find it fascinating.  Bourdain is a chef who travels around the world discovering the food and culture of different areas.  Bourdain is quite a character.  However, he also is pretty good at identifying his weaknesses.  And he is really funny.  I'm currently watching the Las Vegas episode and he is eating a deep fried twinkie.  Yuck!  And yet so fascinating.  This makes me long for the Taste of Chicago where you can try all sorts of food.  I'll have to bring the wee one this year.
